"The real master avoids the fight, and the very best swords are kept in their sheathes." Storm Shadow - Marvel 42
The Unpublished Hasbro Q & A sessions

For some reason the last two rounds of Q & A with Hasbro were never published here on the website, so here is the chance to see what you missed. Unfortunately there was no great big reveal, but a few interesting questions were asked. Click on the full article to read the whole Q & A.

Q & A set#1

1. ArashikageClan.com asks:  The "Paris Pursuit" Storm Shadow came with a very strange-looking accessory, bike-looking handlebars on a suction cup. It had nothing to do with the movie (that we could tell). What was it's inspiration and what the heck is it supposed to be?

Hasbo answered: This was supposed to allow the kid to play with Storm Shadow as if he were climbing or hanging from a building.  It is inspired by the scene when Storm Shadow leaps out of the window in Paris.

2. ArashikageClan.com asks: During some of the scenes of "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra", Storm Shadow appeared in a white dress suit instead of his standard ninja get-up. What are the chances of us seeing that look in an upcoming figure?

Hasbro answered: Unfortunately, there are no plans for a Storm Shadow figure such as this at this time.

3. ArashikageClan.com asks: Without giving away any trade secrets, while still giving us a worth-while answer, Can you tell us which style of figures cost more to produce by ranking the following styles? (Assume an all newly sculpted figure, no re-used parts, no special features beyond articulation or appropriate accessories):

 A) Vintage ARAH "O-Ring" Construction
 B) Modern JvC "O-RIng" Construction
 C) Current 25th Anniversary "T-Bar" Construction
 D) Star Wars/ Indiana Jones "Super Articulated" but still with "T-Crotch"
 Construction.
 E) Wolverine Origins: "Ball Hips"
 F) Furry Files: Integrated T-Bar Hips

Hasbro answered: Unfortunately, per company policy we are unable to release costing info.

Q & A set#2

1. ArashikageClan.com asks: We were all very dissapointed to hear that the Mr Potato Head version of Snake Eyes, "Snake Fries" had had it's release "postponed". Is there any chance we will see it's release eventually, or was it cancelled before it ever hit the assembly line?

Hasbro answered: Unfortunately there are no plans at present for the release of this line.

2. ArashikageClan.com asks: When will the ROC line finally be over so we can get back to the characters and storylines that we all love and want?

Hasbro answered: The GI Joe story has taken many directions over the years and each new theme brings great new news for the brand and its characters. We have a new theme, the Pursuit of Cobra starting in 2010 which we are all very excited about.

3. ArashikageClan.com asks: Why are so many figures released with guns/weapons that do not fit the figure's hands? (like the Paris Pursuit Snake Eyes and his handgun). Isn't there some sort of quality control in the process designed to prevent this? It is so frustrating when you have to choose between posing a figure without his weapon, or stretching the hands out beyond repair.

Hasbro answered: Often figures hands will stretch over time - this is a natural process. Therefore we try to plan for this in our designs to ensure the figures have a longer life span. Please be assured that our figures pass through rigorous quality controls.
