NO! This is a very common misconception. Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow met while doing duty in Vietnam in the LRRP (Long Range Recon Patrol). They became very close friends. When Snake Eyes was left without a family due to an automobile accident, he moved to Japan at Storm Shadow's invitation. There he became a "Sword brother" in training with Storm Shadow; hence the term "brother" is often used between them. Realistically Snake Eyes is a blonde haired, blue-eyed American, while Storm Shadow, though born and raised in San Francisco, is of pure Japanese ancestry.
