| "I got to the end of ARAH #21 and got the idea to use the matching hexagrams bit. I didn't even really know what the connection was between the two characters at the time. But that was the first link. Hexagram 65 of the I Ching (chi chi,) is called "After Completion." It connotes the instability of perfection because the trigram K'an (water) strives to move downwards, while the trigram Li (fire) pushes upwards. I actually chose that hexagram because the symmetry made it easier to remember, but the meaning turned out to be synchronistically apt. Jung would have been amused." - Larry Hama |

Click on the full article to find out. To coincide with the new Burger King Kids Meal toys, Burger King's "Club BK" website added a new feature to their kids game: the G.I Joe V.T.C. (Virtual Training Center). Each player has a little character, of which you can choose your type: Kid, Animal, Monster, or Robot (I thought that the robots were the coolest looking). The characters are supposed to be kid sized, so when compared to Snake Eyes, the kids (or animal/monster/robot) actuall look even smaller. You start off in the "Main Hall" and have a few simple gaming options. One of them is a set of doors which lead you to the G.I. Joe Pit. Once inside the Pit, you have Snake Eyes as your instructor. He puts you through a series of 4 missions. The game was made for kids, so the gameplay is fairly simple. You use your directional arrow keys to walk around, and the spacebar to jump. You are then required to master the series of missions on a timeclock, and as you better your time, so increases your rank at the end (You reach the rank of Private if it takes you longer than 2 minutes to complete all of the missions). The mission at the end is a parachute jump which is the only part of the mission where you get to use GI Joe equipment. To further tie in the game with the Kids Meal toys, each toy has a 4 digit code (which can be found under the movie logo sculpted into the toy) which can be entered into the game to give you a prize. I found that each code entered earns you 500 gold coins. You use the coins to buy merchandise for your "Cabin". The game is cute and simple, but I am sure it will dissappear when the toy promotion goes away. So, if you're under the age of 12, or you just want to check it out, log onto The Club BK site now. |
A new game featuring Snake Eyes has been released onto the web. Obviously, at first glance you can tell he was made to appeal to kids. He's short, he's stubby, and the width of his head makes him look like Stewie Griffin in disguise. So where can we find this adorable toddler-sized commando?
